A Tribute to Nagi Noda (RIP)

It's such a deep shock for me, knowing that one of my favorite art director was already gone. Nagi Noda, 34-years-old art genius passed away after surgical complications from injuries sustained in a traffic accident the previous year. And shame on me, I just knew this devastating news just a while ago. I've been adoring her works from a year ago (from the first time that Scissor Sister - She's My Man video clip came out) and still... my breath always gasping whenever I see her artworks. Knowing that she has gone forever, my heart wrenched, gee! she was only 34 years old, God why don't just give her more time to create more wonderful works that everyone would love to love. Well, and I hope she may rest in peace...

Here are some artworks of her:
Her last video that she had directed, and as a tribute to her I used this song as my blog's song

The first video that caught my eyes a year ago.

Animal Hair Hats
This project was made with Kenneth Cappello (Yeah, I'm talking about "that" Kenneth, professional photographer based in LA & NY. Diane von Furstenburg, Urban Outfitters, Men's Vogue, Fall Out Boy, The Kills, The White Stripes, Chloë Sevigny, yeah-you-name-it are some of his clients)

There are so much more of her incredible works, you can check out at her official website: www.uchu-country.com, like Horror Café, Hanpanda, et cetera, and I know soon after you flick it you'll love to adore her works and regretting why she died in early age.

I Love You So Much, Stephanie Novia Sianipar!

I love youuu Tephieee. Thankyouuu so much. I cried, and I still crying right now. Once again thankyou so much for always been there for me...

Stereo Sound

Well emm if you're ever been wondering about the song of my blog, and if you think it sounds weird (and BIP! you are totally wrong!) so I'm going to tell you a bit about the song. "Blind" is the first single from Hercules & Love Affair, and featured Antony Hegarty (from Antony and the Johnsons) on vocal, and it was released on March 3, 2008. And also, the song has been used to open Chanel Fall/Winter 2008 fashion show!

NME called it a "stone-cold classic," going on to describe it as "the best kind of dance record: physical and emotional, euphorically happy and deeply, irredeemably sad. It clips along weightlessly; all disco bass, trumpets and rippling synthesiser, as Antony, his voice like tears rolling down the cheeks of a beautiful 40-year-old woman, muses intoxicatingly on lost innocence and ageing."

Oh-paque

I am very very tired today, I went to the Northgate Mall and University Village (again) in a row with Metro bus. No wonder, I get exhausted right now. I went there with my hostmate, Helen and she's from Shanghai and both of us go to the same college.

So, OK back to the topic... Fall is near and I still searching for yellow-sunshine opaque and purple-maroon opaque. We went to Macy's at Northgate Mall and also Target just across the street from the mall. But I still can't find the opaques with those colors everywhere. Blaaarrrghhh, bollocks! But I found a pair of good boots with special price also just in case for next Winter, well I didn't buy the boots actually, I'll save it for later. Afterall the boots are not the one that I was looking for, I was looking for the boots that similar to Oxford shoes, yeah something like that.

First thing first. I was trying to look for the opaques at H&M in U Village but I don't have much time since Helen and I have to buy food containers and laundry bags at Bartell, and we've promised Mrs. Querol (my host mistress) to get home around 7 PM. Maybe I'll check on it later at weekend.

Me want them so badly!
Oh, where are youuu?

H&M Spree

I just got home from University Village (an open air shopping center at north downtown Seattle, near University of Washington and very near to my parent's rent house, or like Paris van Java in Bandung for your picture).
And there it is... my shopping paradise, may I present you... H&M and their breathtaking Autumn 2008 collection. Since I already have coats. So I just bought a grey bag for only $19.99, mustard yellow beanie $9.99, turquoise knit handgloves, and waisted dark grey jeans $29.99. But still I want those coats for sure. Oh myyyy they are fabulous! My mom stopped me from shopping madness and nag me about living cost here. So umm... that's all I bought at H&M. I just can't help myself to wear those for next fall, as soon as possible, because it's still summer (though for me it is not summer afterall, for me the weather is very cold in compare to Jakarta *ehmm yeah... of course). Next time when I get there again, somebody, pleaseeee help me from shopping madness? Por favor...

Dispatchwork

"Dispatchwork" by Jan Vormann

As you can see, the main idea of this work is patching those Lego blocks into the wall holes, creating a contrast ambience. The result of this art project goes edgy and unique as typical to Jan Vormann's signature. This work was done in Bocchignano, Italy, a village close to Rome, as part of the group project "20 Eventi".

Leon Trotsky's Last Testament

My high (and still rising) blood pressure is deceiving those near me about my actual condition. I am active and able to work but the outcome is evidently near. These lines will be made public
after my death.

I have no need to refute here once again the stupid and vile slander of Stalin and his agents: there is not a single sport on my revolutionary honour. I have never entered, either directly or indirectly, into any behind-the-scenes agreements or even negotiations with the enemies of the working class. Thousands of Stalin's opponents have fallen victims of similar false accusations. The new revolutionary generations will rehabilitate their political honour and deal with the Kremlin executioners according to their deserts.

I thank warmly the friends who remained loyal to me through the most difficult hours of my life. I do not name anyone in particular because I cannot name them all.

However, I consider myself justified in making an exception in the case of my companion, Natalia Ivanovna Sedova. In addition to the happiness of being a fighter for the cause of socialism, fate gave me the happiness of being her husband. During the almost forty years of our life together she remained an inexhaustible source of love, magnanimity, and tenderness. She underwent great sufferings, especially in the last period of our lives. But I find some comfort in the fact that she also knew days of happiness.

For forty-three years of my conscious life I have remained a revolutionist; for forty-two of them I have fought under the banner of Marxism. If I had to begin all over again I would of course try to avoid this or that mistake, but the main course of my life would remain unchanged. I shall die a proletarian revolutionist, a Marxist, a dialectical materialist, and, consequently, an irreconcilable atheist. My faith in the communist future of mankind is not less ardent, indeed it is firmer today, than it was in the days of my youth.

Natasha has just come up to the window from the courtyard and opened it wider so that the air may enter more freely into my room. I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall, and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression and violence, and enjoy it to the full.
