Nylon Summer Music Tour 2009: Yes! I Was Ready to Shake My Shimmy

I just got home from Nylon Summer Music Tour 2009. It was a total awesomeness!!! I came up late so I didn't have the chance to see Jaguar Love⎯which has left me with no idea of what their performance looked like. So the next in line was Plastiscines, yes plasticines with an S between the I and C, so yeah whatever... first things first. Plastiscines is an-all-girl band from Paris (they are Katty, Marine, Louise and Anaïs) with a complete package of bébés rockers; they dress up in le bobo style (bourgeois bohème), have an upbeat music driven by the guitars and drum and all-in-all⎯catchy lyrics. Parfait, as the Frenchmen said. And on the following, the Living Things finally rocked the venue. It was remarkable, enough said. On top of those, the one that we've been waiting for... Patrick Wolf finally showed up. My friend Alina and I were screaming like crazy. He wore like a coat with a big grayish Union Jack graphic on it⎯it's simply soooo Patrick⎯flamboyant, diva and primadona. I must say that I was totally wrong, his live performance is waaaaaaay better than his music video. It was epic. I was driven away, I danced like crazy as if I got sugar rush or something. It was an amazing night and we didn't want that night to be at an earlier end. So after the first goodbye we, the audience, were screaming and stomping for him⎯begging for an encore. Finally after 5 minutes or so he showed up again for the second time. It was a one fine night.

Cœur de pirate

Photobucket

Cœur de pirate aka Béatrice Martin is an indie pop singer from Quebec, Canada. Her music is indie and her song lyrics is like a dérivé of French chansons, but she straddles the mainstream and has appeared in Elle magazine and other press.

Yé-yé: Part II

Lio. She was really cute and adorable back then, although she is now a slutty-looking grandma. I want her hair and her eyes :p

Lio and France Gall = parfait. I have a really broad interest on genre of music, and yé-yé is one of them. 1960s French pop music is dopeeee.

What Lies Ahead

Dad, please let me go to California College of the Arts instead of University of Washington :(
I knew I've changed the game plan, and I'm sorry for it. But please understand me for once. I just don't belong here...

Those are the sample of their architecture students' work.

Tonight

She is adorable yet friendly, and her voice is like the sweetest voice you've ever heard. She gave a Russian name for me; Marшa.
